Don’t upgrade to wordpress 2.8

At least not using automatic upgrade. This morning I did that and not only I lost our website, but also the trac, subersion and the forum. And it seems it’s not just me.

I had no problem using the automatic upgrade.
I’ve also tried to upgrade via automatic upgrade. It just timed out.
Nothing was working so i overwrited the files manualy.
After logging into the wp-admin it asked me to upgrade the db and everything is back to normal.
I’ve also upgraded a few sites since than, but all copying the files manually.
try habari ;O
Wow. x_X
It probably would have been better if I’d heard this before I did the auto-update last night …
I’m just glad that nothing happened!
Sorry to hear about your problem – I upgraded three sites using the automatic process, and one manually yesterday and didn’t have problems with any of them. Good luck with your restore process.
I’m surprised a code hacker would use the automatic upgrade, rather than just checking out the 2.8 tagged code using svn.
I upgraded using svn and it worked fine.
I had the same issue – now my wp-admin page is blank… Any suggestions?

Same problem.
I upgraded from 2.7 to 2.8.2 and now all I get when trying to log in to admin area is a blank white page.
I feel like such an idiot. There was nothing wrong with my blog, I wish I could just go back to 2.7 now.
Looks like there are heaps of people iwth this problem.
Wouldn’ t it be nice if Wordpress would test the new versions before releasing them.
Oh no. Me too. Just now. Wish I had found your blog first. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have no idea what to do.
[...] Automatic upgrades help, although they still terrify me after the 2.8 crash. [...]
